Severna Park is a highly desirable area in Anne Arundel County located 8 miles North of Annapolis, 17 miles South of Baltimore, and 39 miles East of DC. Severna Park, originally named Boone, is approximately 19.3 square miles nestled between the eastern shore of the Severn River and the northwestern shore of the Magothy River. It’s made up of eleven different neighborhoods, each with a unique appeal and split by 3 main roads that connect the different communities, Ritchie Highway (Maryland Route 2) which runs between Baltimore and Annapolis as well as I-97 and Baltimore-Annapolis Blvd.
Severna Park offers plenty of nature, shopping and convenience to other surrounding major cities. Access to the Baltimore-Annapolis trail is the biggest benefit for some living in Severna Park. Originally a railroad track that ran from Baltimore to Annapolis, was converted into a 13.3 mile long paved biking and running path. Lake Waterford Park is a 108 acre park featuring trails, water views, fishing and playgrounds. Locally owned restaurants, unique shops, shopping centers along Ritchie Highway as well as close by Annapolis Mall.
Many communities in Severna Park have water privileges with access to the Severn & Magothy Rivers. Residents have access to a swimming beach, boat slips, ramps and racks, parks and fields making it one of the most desirable communities in Anne Arundel County.
